FULL COURSE CURRICULUM

Module 1: THE FOUNDATIONS - I’ll introduce you to watercolour & give a breakdown of essential supplies. We’ll cover foundational techniques such as mark making, gestural marks, wet on wet, pattern play and how to do them. By practising these you’ll be well equipped to paint our botanicals, as well as use them for your own creative expression.

Module 2:COLOUR MIXING - Learn to create your own colours! I’ll guide you through Colour Theory 101 and how to create primary, secondary + warm and cool colours. We’ll do colour mixing on colour swatches + you’ll learn to paint your own colour wheel. You’ll gain confidence in creating the colours you want for your art.

Module 3: BOTANICAL LEAVES & FLORAL BUDS -I’ll introduce you to a loose style of painting in Watercolours. You’ll learn how to use brush pressure, strokes and movement to create 3 leaves and bud / blooms. These will form the basis of the final pieces you’ll create. 

Module 4: BOTANICAL CLUSTER- We’ll paint this together. You’ll learn about anchoring, composition and set up. By the end of this module you’ll have a beautiful finished piece that’s 3-5 roses in bloom with leaves. 

Module 5: BOTANICAL WREATH / GARLAND- I’ll take you through this step-by-step. You’ll learn about pencil line composition, colour combinations for a seasoned look, anchoring and more. By the end of this module you’ll have a stunning finished garland piece and 4 different examples of season options to try. 
Module 6: BOTANICAL ROUND -For our final finished piece I’ll teach you this. You’ll learn how to do a composition, outline, wash, adding layers, colour mixing and more. By the end of this module you'll have a gorgeous botanical round.

Do I need any prior experience in watercolour painting? No. The course is designed to guide you through foundational techniques to finish paintings together. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, you'll find value in the course.

What materials will I need? You'll need basic watercolour supplies such as brushes, paints, and paper. These can be purchased with the course and sent out to your home address in NZ. A list of recommended materials will be provided with the course if you want to get your own supplies. 
How long will I have access to the course? You will have lifetime access to the course materials, so you can learn at your own pace and revisit the video lessons whenever you want.
What if I have questions during the course? You can ask these in the Private FB Community. I’d love for us to learn and grow together so post any questions, or paintings you want to celebrate in there. Alternatively, you can message me on instagram or email me directly & I’ll do my best to help.
